BYU More Proactively Manages the Recruitment Process for Students

Campaigning for Better Communications

Like many other universities, Brigham Young’s career officers spend a majority of their time working with employers in the hope of finding the right jobs for their graduating students. Melinda Maughan, Recruiting Coordinator at the BYU Marriott School of Management, uses CSM’s Campaign Manager to ensure that her recruiters have all the information they need well ahead of arriving on campus to recruit its students.

One of her favorite features of the CSM Campaign Manager is the use of automatically triggered emails, making a once manual and cumbersome process quick and efficient so she can focus on other tasks. She employs reminders and has tailored campaigns and timelines to support her ongoing outreach efforts around recruiting activities.

In addition to confirming recruiting activities, the emails to the recruiters include logistical information to manage their schedules while on campus and feedback requests to make sure the school knows what happens after the recruiting process ends.

The automation of Campaign Manager empowers Melinda to focus on working with clients directly on the things that matter most to them.

Use of analytics leads to a better recruitment strategy

Being able to analyze post-event data and track what’s important to her clients is another critical feature that Melinda relies on to deliver value. By being able to anticipate students’ and recruiters’ needs, Melinda and her staff are better able to shift from a reactive approach to a more proactive, strategic approach.

Campaign Manager is able to automate, modify, and track communication with each student. It also provides a way to confirm that all open/pending items are handled ahead of the event. Using Pending Actions/Follow-up as a to-do list can quickly and easily provide progress updates as needed and ensures all students receive the information they need for a successful employer visit.
