We are so excited to be heading to New Orleans for this year’s #NACE18 conference. The Big Easy is famous for its exquisite cuisine, renowned live music, and annual cultural celebrations. If you’re going to #NACE18 this year, here are a few things you can’t miss while you visit NOLA:
Take a stroll in the French Quarter
There is so much to admire about the Crescent City’s oldest and most famous neighborhood. Spend an afternoon admiring the architecture and curious personalities of New Orleans or check out some of the city’s oldest Creole restaurants.
Stop by Jackson Square
Located in the heart of the French Quarter, Jackson Square is a vibrant plaza and home to the renowned St. Louis Cathedral. It is also a great place to pick up art from local artists from galleries in Julia and Royal streets and the Mid-City and Bywater art markets.
Enjoy the live music
New Orleans is called the Birthplace of Jazz for a reason. The city is filled with eclectic street musicians performing mash-ups of jazz and funk music. Just walk outside to hear the live music or head to Frenchmen Street in the Faubourg Marigny to check out the world-renowned jazz clubs.
Savor world-class cuisine
Indulge in New Orleans’ celebrated Cajun food. Visit Café du Monde for delicious beignets, order fresh crawfish and oysters from any of the famous restaurants at Magazine Street or visit the Southern Food and Beverage Museum for a taste of the local cuisine.
Do a guided tour through the historic sites
The Big Easy has an abundance of free and paid tours for you to explore the city and its history. From self-guided tours through the Garden District to streetcar tours along the Riverfront, New Orleans offers plenty of opportunities for you to experience the city’s culture in a short span of time.
