What Does Application Availability Mean?

Application availability is the extent to which an application is operational, functional and usable for completing or fulfilling a user’s or business' requirements. This measure is used to analyze an application's overall performance and determine its operational statistics in relation to its ability to perform as required.

Symplicity utilizes Cloud Service Providers such as AWS, MS Azure, and OCI, which enable us to scale on-demand.  When the load on an application has increased, we can scale up our infrastructure to ensure availability of applications.  When the load decreases, we can scale down.  This gives Symplicity the ability to provide our clients with the lowest possible cost of services.

Availability Monitoring

Symplicity provides 24 x 7 x 365 monitoring for availability using numerous tools, alerts, and platforms.  These include:

  • Web Services - Ability to make web service calls, interface display, etc.
  • Database Access - Ability to access user databases
  • Email Services - Ability to send email through the system
  • Drop Site Services (sFTP) - Ability to access Symplicity Drop Sites
  • Document Conversion - Ability to convert documents to PDF
  • Single Sign-On - Ability for users to log in via SSO
  • Symplicity Phone System - Ability to call the Symplicity Offices

Users may monitor the Symplicity Network by Region by visiting www.sympstatus.com.  Clients that require more in-depth metrics may use low-cost services like Pingdom to monitor their application instances.
