In this month's Symplicity Spotlight, we're featuring Cadyn Fraley, a passionate advocate for student success who transitioned from higher education administration to joining the Symplicity Advocate team. 

Tell us a little about your career history in Higher Ed? 

"I began my career at Marshall University in the Title IX Office before transitioning to the Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability. There, I served as the Assistant Director of Case Coordination and Data Assessment, where I was the primary administrator for the university's Advocate system." 

What sparked your interest in Higher Ed? 

"Before working in higher education, I was a dance teacher, and I truly enjoyed mentoring and guiding my students. That experience sparked my passion for working with students, and higher education provided me with the opportunity to help them navigate their college journeys, overcome challenges, and find their paths to success." 

What drew you to Symplicity and how does your previous work impact your role as a client manager? 

"I was drawn to Symplicity because of the exceptional interactions I had with Client Managers in my previous role. While at Marshall, one of my primary responsibilities was managing and optimizing the Advocate system, which became my favorite aspect of the job. I loved collaborating with different departments to tailor the system to their specific needs, ensuring they could maximize its benefits. That experience directly translates to my role as a Client Manager, where I now have the opportunity to help institutions do the same on a broader scale." 

What's your favorite feature of ADV? 

"It's hard to pick just one favorite feature of the Advocate system! I was fortunate to take part in the inaugural Flexpert series, which proved to be an exceptional training experience. Through this program, I gained a wealth of knowledge that directly connected to the original system. What I truly appreciate is how this initiative encouraged deeper engagement and buy-in across different facets of higher education, empowering institutions to make the most of the system's potential." 

Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing? 

"Outside of work, I enjoy tackling DIY projects around the house with my husband, Josh, and our dog, Dax. I also love sewing and crafting while watching my favorite TV shows and movies—it's the perfect way to unwind and get creative!"
