This year's NACE conference was a huge success and part of that is due to our amazing Symplicity NACE Student Ambassadors.
In an effort to provide prospects with a better understanding of how students can benefit from our CSM, we decided to bring some real student users to share their experiences. We were looking for three energetic, highly motivated students to help us showcase their school's CSM system. After creating the job description, we shared it with our clients from colleges and universities in the New Orleans area.
The Ambassadors were expected to demonstrate CSM’s features to conference attendees, share their own Symplicity success story, generate awareness of CSM's full capabilities, and gather feedback from attendees. In return, the students received paid lodging and accommodations in New Orleans, LA, a stipend for two days of work, the opportunity to network with thousands of employers from across the country, and real-world marketing experience.
We had great results totaling over 50 submissions. After scanning through all eligible candidates, we picked three based on their diverse experience and collegiate background. We had the most success with Mississippi State due to it's close proximity to NOLA. After several virtual interviews, we narrowed it down to three incredible students, Joy, Jarrett, and Cassidy.
Joyelle Lee is a senior at Mississippi State University majoring in marketing with a minor in Spanish. She works on campus at the department of housing and residential life as an information assistant. She was a peer mentor and is the recipient of the Harvard Women in Business Conference Award.
I love Symplicity because every week it gives me updates about what jobs are open. Through the push notifications I can select when I want to apply to a job and it takes me right to their platform. It's so easy!
Jarrett Bates is also a senior at MSU. He is pursuing a Finance degree with a concentration in risk management and Insurance. Jarrett is an office assistant on campus with a wide array of volunteer work.
Symplicity helped me get the ambassador position. It was a great trip to New Orleans. Great experience! I got to meet a lot of new people and network. I've had good experiences with the company and the software.
Cassidy Voelkel, our third MSU Student Ambassador, recently graduated with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. She was part of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society and volunteers at her local library.
I used Symplicity before in our Career page and it's helped me land a job interview before and look at upcoming career events. It's definitely a really good software.
The Symplicity Student Ambassadors were the highlight of NACE18 and helped create a fun and positive vibe in our booth!
