This summer, we held our second Accommodate Symposium in Boston, MA. The event took place on July 10th at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel the day before the annual AHEAD Conference.
The event was packed with roundtable discussions, best practice sharing, and learning opportunities. Attendees included a mix of experienced and new Accommodate users, as well as users going through implementation and eager to grasp how other clients are maximizing the system. We also had Symplicity representatives attend from all areas of the business. From Client Managers and Support staff to Marketing and Sales associates, the event gave attendees a full scope of the Symplicity team behind Accommodate and the resources we have in place to support our clients’ success.
“The reason I signed up is because although I've been working with Accommodate for four years, I wanted to hear how other people are using it, and to get some ideas on some features or different ways that they're conceptualizing their workflow, and try to bring that back to my office.”
Dr. Lauren Rodriguez,
Director of Office of Disability Resources,
SUNY Purchase College
The day began with opening remarks from Symplicity’s VP of Product, Janet Sun, where she gave clients insight into what drives our decision-making and what they can expect from future product releases. We then moved on to training sessions led by Symplicity staff followed by client presentations from Marymount Manhattan College, St. Francis College, and Slippery Rock University. The presentations varied in topics from using the Reporting module to maximizing the Notetaker network, each representative provided their own perspective on how Accommodate has streamlined their operations which resulted in better services for their students.
We ended the day with a roundtable discussion and networking session in which attendees got the opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and assess how they can be better using the system’s functionality.
“The event has been great! It's lovely to hear from other people and being able to say, "Oh, I have that problem too. Let's talk about it, and let's find creative ways to make solutions for our students.”
Lindsay Green,
Assistant Director for Disability Services,
Marymount Manhattan College
Our second Accommodate Symposium provided us and our clients with unmatched opportunities to build expertise and share best practices for furthering disability services in higher education. On behalf of the entire Symplicity team, we’re very proud of what we have been able to accomplish in collaboration with all of our attendees and look forward to ACC Symposium 2020!
